Made from hardneck varieties
Of the two types of garlic, hardneck garlic is more robust and flavorful than softneck. We use several hardneck varieties to make our powder, including Asian Tempest, Chesnok Red, Estonian Red, Georgian Fire, German Extra Hardy, Montana Giant, Persian Star, Romanian Red, and Rosewood.
Locally-grown and produced, not imported
Locally-grown organic garlic is fresher and safer due to stricter food standards and better organic enforcement in the United States. Most grocery store garlic and powder is softneck and imported from China (produces 75% of the world's garlic) and India (produces 10%). The USA produces less than 1%.
